Convergent Wealth Advisors research department, based mainly in Portland, Oregon, selects and monitors investment products from high quality institutional money management firms, primarily hedge fund managers. The research department is growing rapidly and has an immediate need for a Research Analyst in our Portland office.

Reporting to the Director of Research, the Research Analyst will be responsible for:

• Reviewing materials from investment managers and preparing written analyses.
• Conducting due diligence conference calls with managers.
• Assisting with new manager searches.
• Assisting with and writing/publishing special research studies.

Successful candidates will have following:

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business.
• 2-5 years business experience, preferably in the investment industry in a manager research capacity
• Understanding of financial markets
• Understanding and some experience in asset allocation
• Extremely detail oriented and thorough work practices.
• Excellent quantitative skills
• Strong spreadsheet/modeling skills
• Excellent verbal, writing and organizational skills.
• Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills.
• An interest in working in a team environment.
• Initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Experience working with advisors, ultra high net worth clients and/or institutional clients is a plus.
