Stephanie Zaffos serves as the estate planning expert for Convergent Wealth Advisors. Stephanie works directly with the firm’s clients and their attorneys, helping them to understand the strategies available that seek to minimize their tax burdens and maximize the transfer of their wealth to future generations. She also serves as a resource to the firm’s Advisors by keeping them apprised of new developments in estate planning and is responsible for providing training and education to the Advisors regarding tax and estate planning laws and strategies.
Prior to joining Convergent, Stephanie practiced as a tax and estate planning attorney at nationally recognized firms including Venable LLP, Proskauer Rose LLP, and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. Her work included estate, gift, and generation-skipping tax planning, as well as implementing various other advanced techniques. Stephanie has handled numerous estate and trust administrations, including the preparation of federal estate tax returns, and she has assisted clients in the preparation of federal gift tax returns and the allocation of the generation-skipping transfer tax exemption with respect to mixed inclusion ratio trusts. Previously, Stephanie was a Senior Associate at PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP, where she handled an array of tax issues.
Stephanie received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Los Angeles and earned a Juris Doctor from the UCLA School of Law with a Tax Emphasis in the Business Law Program. She is a member of the California State Bar.
